Sessions: There are four sessions during the school year: fall, winter, spring and summer. During each session, the class will meet once a week for 8 weeks (six weeks in summer session).
Classes: Each weekly class will last from 45-55 minutes. There are from four to eight children in each class. Each child will be accompanied by a parent.
Age: The recommended age for children in the preschool class is from 3 to 5 years old.
Curriculum: Each session will stress the following:
•singing songs and matching pitches
•body movement and coordination •ear training •ensemble training •introduction to certain music instruments •recognition of concepts like high/low, fast/slow, loud/soft, and melody
Goals: The Suzuki Preschool Program has these overall objectives: •learning how to concentrate •developing a strong sense of rhythm •developing motor skills and coordination •practice in following instructions •identifying sounds of various instruments •learning basic music concepts •introducing parents to our music program and to the Suzuki method •exposure to a variety of music instruments
•establishing a good learning relationship between teacher, student and parent for future instrument study
Tuition: The cost of the Suzuki Preschool Program is $120 per student per summer session.
Registration: Please send in your registration materials as early as possible because class space is limited. Be sure to indicate your preference for the classes to be offered by indicating a first, second, and third choice when you return the registration form.
